On my flight to Accra on Tuesday we were given no less than 4 announcements before we took off that the aircraft we were on had been fitted with the brand new AVOD system giving us a huge choice of entertainment.

Well...........

After re-booting the system 4 times they gave up, 1 announcement was made that there were a few teething problems with this brand new technology and that this was to be expected for such cutting edge stuff.

WHO are they trying to kid, i didn't get a chance to see what the system could do as it never worked long enough to try it. This was throught the whole aircraft, every time they re-set the system it just wouldn't do what it should for more than 5 minutes. It would then just refuse to do anything except display the sky map.

BA seem at the back of the queue when it comes to this system so why are they still having such problems. If AVOD ystems are all that bad why do the airlines buy them.[V]

AVOD's good when it works, but cr@p when it doesn't. After a while, hopefully BA will have it sussed; VS had problems at the beginning but these seem to be much less frequent now:)
