IFE system on BA 747-400

Is the IFE on BA 747-400's of the AVOD type? Flying the LHR/LAX route this month.

Yep, all BA 747's have AVOD on them - it's not the latest system as on their 777-300's and some refurbs, but is still AVOD

I was surprised when I was on a BA B744 heading to DEL (after many years of not using BA), because of the AVOD! It was so quick and responsive, and is pretty good for what it is. If the screens were a teensy bit bigger it would have been perfect. You may even get lucky and have it on from the gate as we did.

Its all on from the gate now, useless if you are in F or J as screens are stowed.
