I have just received notification that my flight on a Boeing 747-400 has changed to a " new aircraft 741 ". I have never heard of this type of Boeing . Will it be a very different configuration to the one where I've chosen my seat, please ?

Thank you.

Hi Hiljil,

I think it's simply 744 Version 1 (they have three variants). Version 1's have 52 seats in Club World, I think BA's plan is to standardise this layout across their 744 fleet.

Thanks

Not quite, they used to just have 2 major variants:
Mid-J with 52 Club seats
High-J with 70 Club seats

Now they are re-cofiging the High-J's into either Mid-J or a new Super-High-J with 86 Club seats. The seats being moved from one aircraft to another.

Rest assured hilgil that ALL BA First cabins are now "new First" with the last aircraft with "old First" having been decommissioned last month.
