Skyfler Solo to end

This announcement seems to have snuck in under the radar.

From Jan 31st 2017 the Skyflyer Solo product for unaccompanied minors (UM) will end for new bookings. All existing bookings will be honoured. No reason given but it hints that differences in legal requirements might be behind it. Either that or just too much work and liability...

I wonder how long before VS drop it too?

I thought it closed back in February - there was a thread on Flyertalk about it at the time.

The feeling seemed to be it was simply because of declining bookings. And given BA's widespread efficiency savings under Alex Cruz, it was probably seen as a non-essential service that isn't cheap to provide yet benefits a tiny proportion of customers, so an obvious target for cuts.

Yes was announced in Feb.
Slightly interesting is that Iberia still offers unaccompanied minor service at Heathrow T5, it's fulfilled by BA...
