Hi Guys,

Looking to go to NY Late august early September and looking to fly Prem Economy. Virgin is currently looking a little expensive, but i can get return flights, with good times for £703 with BA. Does this sound like a good price? I am currently not to stuck on dates, so not sure if its best to wait for a sale, or whether or not this price is just as good!

Thanks for any advice!

I have only flown this route on miles so can't help with prices. But, a quick skyscanner check on the last week in August gave me a couple of PE flights with BA for £654.

Thank you. Yea i did see some of these fares, but it means booking through some of these 3rd parties like netflights and travelup, instead of direct with the airlines, and i have also been weary of doing this.

I would be wary of booking via a third party too. Far better IMHO to book with the airline and cut out the middle man. The Trip Advisor Air Travel forum has hundreds of tales of woe from people who booked with third parties and had major problems. I realise some are better than others but personally, I would always book direct with the airline.

Netflights is one of the good ones.

I booked Kenya Airways with them and was very impressed (less so with their credit card charges so be aware!)

But when you book with a third party you so surrender some access to the booking.

OTAs are fine if everything goes to plan and you're sure your plans won't change.

But if you suddenly need to change your flights, or decide you want to upgrade, or the airline cancels or reschedules your flights, they can be a total nightmare and charge outrageous fees.

In terms of WT+ on BA, most people seem to think it's not up to the same standard as VS but if the price is good go for it.
