I read somewhere that you can hire a boat to go out on the lagoon to watch the firework/display. Does anyone know how you can do this. Alternatively how do you book access to those VIP sites with the bar/snacks and tables (if it's it possible)

Thanks

Here is a link to a wonderful site with lots of Disneyworld information and specifically, renting a boat for Illuminations. I have watched the show from the park at least 30 times and yet have yet to watch from a boat.

It leaves the Yacht & Beach club - it's either $180 for the "full cruise" or $120 for a pontoon boat. $180 gets you your own boat, however, to yourself.

Full details are on this page. Hope that's what you want... ;)

And I can say it is a fantastic trip. Did this last Sept, took the family. Snacks and drinks included and the Castmember that takes you out lets you into to a lot of little behind the scenes secrets. Boats moor under the bridge between England and France pavillions in Epcot. Perfect view. I have several photos taken from the boat if anyone would like to see them.

Be aware of 3 things.
1) Book well in advance as they are hard to find spaces
2) They will cancel at a moments notice in the event of storms
3) They WILL go out in all other weather including heavy rain, so take an umbrella.

We have taken part in an Illuminations Desert Party on the Italy Isola and it was a fantasic evening. We all chipped in because it's 20 people min. but it's a blast. We've also rented the Grand 1 for a Wishes Cruise ( 1 to 13 people ) and ordered private dining on board which was superb.
