In all the years that we have been coming to Florida, and believe me there are a lot of them we had never stayed at Sea World after dark until yesterday.

As a birthday present for Scott I booked the Shamu Rocks dinner buffet and reserved seating for the show. We booked the early showing definately recommended in preference to the later one.

The buffet started at 6.45 and people were queing before 6.15. At first we were worried that we wouldn't get to see any of the whales, but it turned out to be no problem at all as all the seats had excellent views of the pool and we were entertained throughout our stay by 3 very playful whales. The girls were in awe and Scott was very impressed as was I [:D]

We were a little unsure what the food would be like, but there was a huge choice available that would cater for most people's tastes. There were plenty of starters of soup and salads, and the main courses I remeber included beef, turkey and a veg option with lots of vegetable side dishes on offer. The desserts were amazing with at least 10 different choices of cake available. Sorry there isn't more detail, i was too busy with the camera [8D]

It wasn't long before the camera had to go away and we were being escorted to our reserved seating, which was directly in the centre of the stadium with fantastic views. As for the show.....I can't believe that we had missed out on such a fantastically brilliant experience before. It far exceeded any expectations that I had and I can't wait to go back again. My hands were sore from clapping and myself and the 3 girls girls are sounding a little hoarse this morning from all the shouting and cheering we did. Just to say again it was BRILLIANT [^]

Afterwards we went to see the Bayside ski jam and hung around for the fireworks, both of which are also fab.

It was a very late night for the girls, especially Jess, who is 3 (she fell asleep just as the fireworks finished)but we are all in agreement that the experence has to be repeated as we had such a goodtime.

If no-one has been yet, and i'm sure that there aren't many of you [;)]please, please go as it is show not to be missed.

To sixdownkeepsafedepth, musicmanbrain and to anyone else whom I have offended by posting this review please accept my apologies.

It was never my intention to offend or upset anyone when i gave a review of my time at Sea World and in future I will be more mindfull of other people's feelings.

Michelle absolutely no need to apologise to me. My skin is thicker than a Rhino's. Personally I refused to go to the show but the rest of my family did and they also enjoyed it immensely. In fact I apologise to you for my sarcastic retort. The fact that people enjoy what ever they enjoy is none of my business.

Same here - it is very much a case of personal preference. I converted to the 'save the whales' side of the fence a few years back, but it is absolutly a personal view and everyone is entitled to form their own opinion. Im sure the animals are well cared for and their conservation out in the open is probably funded in part by sea-world.

Michelle, that was a great report and I haven't done a night show for a long time so it was lovely to read.

Seaworld is one of my favourite parks I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading about your family's experience. You obviously all enjoyed it very much.

Have a great holiday

Just an FYI

A couple of years ago I paid for Mrs Scrooge to be a 'trainer for the day' at Sea World.

What this entailed was spending the entire day with one of the trainers feeding, cleaning and caring for the animals.

Whilst she was not to happy with the fact that there were whales, dolphins etc in captivity, she did find out that they are extremely well cared for, wanting for nothing and that yes they are used in shows, to draw us humans in, which earns gate receipts, which amongst other things goes towards caring for rescued animals...a lot of rescued animals, which would other wise die....So yes a little bad does a lot of good....not even counting the educational programs the parks run for local schools.
