The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed thumb-up & thumb-down icons at the bottom right of each post in the forum. These now allow you to show your approval (or disagreement) with a specific comment made, so you can finally give praise for a great trip report; eloquent explanation of the fare codes, or give praise for a useful tip.

Three things to remember. Only members can rate a post; you can only rate once, and you can't rate your own posts.

It's on a trial for the moment, but assuming it doesn't get abused or spark internal wars (why didn't you thumb up my post, you *@$!%!), then it'll stay.

Hi Grebo,

Which browser / platform are you on?

IE7 also - and I see two thumbs up signs, neither of which I can click on.

I see one thumbs up and one thumbs down. Clicking on either causes an "Error on page" to appear in bottom left of screen. Clicking on that gave me the error details I posted earlier.

I see the problem. Currently I can only seem to get it to work in Firefox, which is odd since the code was designed to be platform-aware.

Let me tinker a little further...

Is there any backend tracking of anyone's thumbs up/down of a post?

Ok - done some more updates, those on IE & Safari, please give it a try and let me know if it's working for you.

Ben - the database tracks whether someone has already rated a post, but not the way they rated; so thumbing up or down is anonymous.

That's ok - as long as it's now working, I don't mind at all ;)
