Actually thinking about it this could become a two edged sword. Say a crew member posts that the woman in charge of Cabin Crew is a ******* **** *** ***** * **** ***** ******** ** ****... all the crew decide to mischievously agree - there is no mechanism short of censorship to redress the balance. Perhaps yet another table with compulsory comments on vote. That'd get unwieldy however. Hmm - perhaps just a record of who voted then - that way people doing it for bad reasons will know they can be outed.

I to would like option 1 to be re-instated and was trying to find the words to formulate the request. GJ has done it so much better than I [y] I found it useful if a search did not throw up what I was looking for but I might have remembered the name of the person who made the post

Hi Guys

Good job on the new style profiles.... quick request ... any chance of adding Afghanistan to the 'countries ive visited' drop down ?

Cheers

Mark :D

Oops! Yes, sorry - it was there, but a small typo in the code meant that first country wasn't appearing. Now fixed.

Pete, any chance of adding "Member Since" date to the profile as this has to be searched through the members pages which is a bit of a shame given most info is now in the profile?

The posts of persons whom I respect here are read by me 100% of the time and it's hard to find where they've posted (picking thru those little one-line "So and so has just made lunch" or such is more difficult.

GJ

For number 1, I probably need to add a little code snippet to either bring those into the profile pages or at least a link to a pre-made search page. Will give that some thought.

Ok, done.

The left hand column will now display the recent posts list (last 10), with a link to see all posts by this user.

You'll notice that the list may have more topics than the Updates Feed, since the updates feed only displays a status line when you post/reply to a totally public forum. Because I can do more dynamic checking in the recent posts list, this will show you all recent posts to forums that you also have access too.

Added that, and the last online date too.

just one thing.... is there a restriction on photo uploads for profile photo? I cannot change that which I have added... [?]

PostPosted: 23 Sep 2007, 19:44

Not a restriction on number of times you can change it, just on its size and type. It must be below about 140K, and of .jpg, .gif or .png format. Maybe you're trying to upload a huge .bmp file? ;)

no, its only 48k and a .jpg
thought I might scare people with a different photo....

The vampire one?

I see it. Perhaps the one at your end is still cached as the Romeo & Juliet page. Try forcing a refresh when you get to your main profile page.

[y]Thanks, that seems to do the trick!

Any way we can do some "grouping" or tweaks to the display of threaded chats Pete?

Example here. Two threads with two people (GJ / Juliet) and they look a bit confusing?

Can we have bar chat - to - chat displayed on both member's walls? (And maybe have them grouped/indented for clarity?)

Sorry, want want want want want.... [:w]

I also seem to be having the problem Andrew has. My profile shows a friend request, but the bit to click "accept" etc isn't there and I have no idea who it is from either.

Think I've got to the bottom of it now, so those phantom friend requests shouldn't be appearing now.

Pete

In the bar chat area, when it displays the last 10 posts, the most recent is on the top.

However when you click on 'see all', the list inverts and the oldest post is on the top.

Is that deliberate, or can we have it so that the newest post is at the top in 'see all' mode as well, please?

Nick

Hi Nick,

It was deliberate, but I can see how in practise it's pretty confusing, so I'll switch it

I'm experiencing a problem with the "Friend Request" link. It says I have one but when try to click it there is no link and instead it only gets highlighted.

Edit: well I was able to approve the request because of the alternative link at the the bottom, but the normal one still wasn't working.

The one at the top is a notification only, the one at the bottom is the only one with the approve / reject links
