From about 7.30pm tonight, I have had all sorts of problems getting the site to display - worst is the 'active topics' page.

I have also had problems with the MLB.COM and NFL.COM, but not as bad; and UK sites seem to be loading fine. [?]

Anyone else?

Probably a transit link issue somewhere or maybe someone cut one of the trans-Atlantic cables (again) [:w]

Seems OK now though.

Went again tonight.

Last time we had this, the site had been hacked. Very similar symptoms too. That was when Pete was way too.

I think it's a UK-wide transit (Level3?) problem as my ISP has had an amber status message now for a few days about trans-Atlantic links:

Slow access to transatlantic websites (53564) - UPDATE
This is an update to last nights post about difficulties customers have been having accessing US-based websites from our network.

Our network engineers are continuing to work alongside our transit providers to resolve the problems that were experienced last night.

We will leave Service Status on amber, monitor performance this evening, and provide another update tomorrow.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
