Hi,

This is probably a really silly question, but why wasn't a 747-400 used as the model for the top-banner plane? Instead of the Airbus?

The 747 is, after all (at least until the A380 is fased in) the flagship plane of the VS fleet.

Just thought I'd ask ;)

A couple of reasons; 1) the hump on the 747 and the length would make it visually awkward in the way it's used currently, and 2) Airbus provide true vector art of their planes on their website, and that's the basis for the image (which was taken into Photoshop and given a VS paint job).

Thanks Pix :)

That answers my question.

I take it that the A380 will grace the top of the page once it's out? ;)

Probably :)

It would mean using a bit of artistic license, as the reg G-VFLY (the closest to Virgin Flyer) in reality is on a A340-300... but I'm sure I could get away with that one :)
