New seatmaps!

Thanks to a very helpful member of VS's staff, new seatmaps for both the A340-600 (Suites) and the new layout of the 747-200 (on the MAN-MCO route) are now on VirginFlyer.

G-VEIL, Queen Of The Skies is the first of the A340-600's with Suites to be fitted, and I note the layout makes the bar much better positioned to avoid disturbing people in the last row (17).

The new 747-200 layout now also solves the mystery of the PE rows 17-22. I'm sure this will be welcome info for those that have been scratching their heads over this puzzle recently.

The new seatmaps are available in the Aircraft Database & Seat Ratings pages. Note neither of these layouts are available on virginatlantic.com, or anywhere else on the Internet - a real VirginFlyer exclusive!

They still haven't got the 744 Suite Map - wonder how long before the A346 makes it up there?

Interesting how the middle UCS seats change direction after row 7 and goes from a 'D' to a 'G' seat

What strikes me about the layout is there isn't a 'crosswalk' across the cabin for the whole length of Upper. Gonna make cabin service interesting!

Not sure why it flips direction in the centre halfway down. I guess they have an operational reason (like the cupboard needs to be in between row 7/8 in the centre, maybe?)

I hope I get an opportunity to fly on it at some point, let alone see pictures

Another point i'd like to raise - what is the numbering for the two front centre Suites? Seats 1D and 2D would seem most obvious, in which case seat 2A is next to 3D - confusing and a potential problem for couples booking seats next to each other, surely?

If im not sorely mistaken, this 'new' 747-200 layout is the one used by the 742 that served YYZ in 2001. Maybe they have been standardised according to Virgins wishes?
