Off to SFO for a combo work/play weekend.
An early Friday morning flight (6 am) but full count both legs CFG/SFO. Check In could not manage entering VS FC number so bagged it and kept e passes to send in later.

It was interesting to find that Delta seems--oddly--better than prior to recent announcement of troubles. There was no indication that hard times had arrived (well, other than package of biscuits and the-worst-cheese-in-the world as breakfast substitute). Staff were helpful, positive, friendly, and all went quite smoothly, other than aisle seat mate who was very upset with his newspaper and kept growling back at it.

Swift connection (after a welcome cup of Peet's coffee at CVG) excellent view of Rockies and on time arrival at SFO, bags right up and on to BART for rental car. Well worth using premium service prior rental booking as huge lines for those who hadn't done so. A quick and comfortable 7 hours and arrival in time for a full day's work. Headed up to Point Reyes for the weekend, back one night to SF for Gillian Welch concert at the Fillmore (highly recommend Fresca, Peruvian restaurant a few blocks down) and put name down for miles upgrade return flight.

Only negative was destruction of crucial rivet to golf bag (TSA at it again). But TSA had also removed my Maui Jims from their case whilst going through security in BOS two weeks ago--and after filing complaint, lo and behold, they reappeared via Fed Ex next day. No worries.

Best part of weekend? No phone/no laptop/kayaking in Russian River, mudbath at Calistiga Springs, siting of what has to have been a huge black cat -like jaguarunda in cowpasture at Rancho A in Point Reyes Light, bbq oysters and lashings of Gloria Ferrer fizz.

Cheers,
RR
