Smooth reurn, and again the sense that Delta are determined to at least keep a stiff upper lip as they cut flights and staff.

Stayed in mineral springs pool at Calistoga until sunset and then quick run down to SF, crystal clear pass over Golden Gate and on to SFO. Red Eye to CVG on time, but no chance of upgrade as ticket not applicable. Wonder if this was just retribution for having miles credited to VS rather than DL....again a challenge for agent to enter number but she seemed to have accomplished it. New SKY mag quite good--useful info.

Slept to CVG and again to BDL, on time despite stormy weather requiring seatbelts (and noted that DL pilots were very attentive about removing seatbelt warning whenever possible). Looked in mirror on arrival and confirmed astuteness of 'red eye' terminology.
A very comfortable and quick flight (7 hours), able to put in a full day's work without falling on face despite absence of fully flat bed, IFE and food/drink of any kind.
Total mileage--6000 plus, two tier points.
Total cost flight--$243
Total ease of travel: 8/10 (could have used some real cheese and fresh fruit on outward leg).

cheers,
