After our brief work conference in Ibiza, it was time to head back to the UK. This meant getting up around 3am, so that we could shower and then check out the hotel. Everything seems to take soooo long in Spain. Taxi arrived very quickly and then it was off from Santa Eulalia to Ibiza airport. The roads were relatively busy, which is suppose is everyone coming back from having been out clubbing!!

Airport was empty - there aren't many mid-week package flights back to the UK. The EZ flight had already left by the time we got there, and the only other people there were a delayed 23:40 Cardiff flight. Check-in was VERY slow for no real reason. Headed up and through security. Tried to find lounge.....but of course there isn't anything there for business travellers. Pretty much all the shops were open - that being the duty free, newsagent and another souvenir food shop. The only eatery open was the coffee shop. Went for a coffee - really surprising that BA don't give Club passengers vouchers for something as there is no lounge - poor customer service. Coffee was pretty good and needed at that time of day. Those on the delayed Cardiff flight were being given a ham sandwich and bottle of water (which had the thinnest ham I have ever seen!).

Boarding was called at 4.35 for a 5.25 flight, although this just meant that we ended up waiting on a bus for the stragglers, although the last 4 ended up being driven personally to the plane. Again it was empty - 7 in club (7 rows again) and 53 in EuroTraveller - must be busier at other times, otherwise surprised that BA started this route after GB Airways went to EZ. Looked like at least half of the passengers, including those in Club, had come straight from a night of clubbing to the plane!!

Had the cooked breakie after take-off, which was not too bad and served very quickly. Then managed to get about an hours sleep, which is good I thought on such a short flight. Landed 20 minutes early. As we taxied off, the pilot said that he hoped we had managed to get some shut eye on the flight, even in the cramped conditions (not sure that BA would like him to be acknowledging that the conditions on board are cramped!).

IRIS meant that I was through very quickly, and then waited for ages for the baggage carousle to be listed. Priority baggage as usual didn't work at all - all the tagged bags came off last (although there must have only been 20 checked bags!).

All in all pretty good flight, although the times are awful, especially when you have to get back to work in the morning!
