This was a short (under 2 hours) journey to Milan or, more precisely to Lake Orta for my stepson's wedding...out Sunday, back to Heathrow the following Wednesday on BA0567.

Both flights, on A320s, were fine. The outbound left a little late and landed early; the inbound got stuck in the queue to land for a while on returning to Heathrow. Both flights were smooth and the cabin crews were good. Snacks were offered and accepted.

Economy seats 9A and B out and 10E and F back were ok. The planes were both clean and the return was full, the outbound nearly so. Lots of people clearly had lots of hand luggage on the return; the overhead lockers were jammed.

Terminal 5 at Heathrow is a pain however, it took 50 minutes from getting off the plane to actually get to passport control, lots of queueing involved.

And for those who haven't been the Italian lakes are absolutely fabulous and Lake Orta is up there with Bellapais in Cyprus and the Great Barrier Reef as the most beautiful places I have ever been.

So you get some photos

Looks heavenly!

I've never tried it but apparently if the queues for immigration at T5 are utterly horrendous (ie over 45 mins) it can be quicker to jump on a Flight Connections bus to T2 and clear the UK border there as it's quieter there in the evenings.

Thank you for a very different TR.

What a beautiful location for a wedding. Thank you for sharing the photo of the happy couple and I wish them every happiness together.

Great TR and lovely pictures (except for the T5 queue).

Young folk nowadays. Woking Registry office and honeymooning at the in laws no longer good enough? Hang on, I've just remembered we never had a honeymoon...

What a gorgeous place to choose for a wedding, they do things rather differently these days. But Economy, even if it's a short flight? I'm with Mrs Dickydotcom on another thread, if I can't fly Upper, I'm not going :D

Trouble is that I still had luggage to collect.

And in the photo of the queue the folks on the right are in turn queueing to get to the back of the queue on the left. Some opted to push in leading to various mutterings including the wonderful " don't you dare push in in front of me, I have been here since last Tuesday".

Wonderful photos. Having flown into Milan a few weeks ago (Linate) it was lovely to see the amazing scenery again, along with the wedding preview. Thank you so much for sharing and many congratulations to the newly weds.
