Number 1 Son is off in the USA driving Route 66 (as far as is possible) and having a whale of a time. Unfortunately his digital camera is packing up on him and he needs to buy another. Does anyone have a recommendation for a widespread bricks and mortar chain that he'll likely be able to get to that'll offer good prices ? Am I correct in thinking that Circuit City is no more?

Thanks

Bestbuy or walmart, always have a good selection and will pricematch anyone.

Circuit City is no more sadly. Fry's would probably be quite good if he's in CA, but their customer service can be iffy.

Ah, that was the name I was trying to bring to mind earlier. At the moment they are heading into Dallas where there seem to many stores related to the RitzCamera site that Richard posted, and he said they'd seen both Bestbuy and Walmart of their travels.

From personal experiance I would just drop in to the nearest Target store and buy one.

Got my digital camera from Samys. Got a fantastic deal on the camera with loads of extras chucked in - spare battery, another memory card, case etc.

Failing that, I would go to Target or Best Buy.

Or Costco if he has a UK card, they do accept them.

Thanks all for the advice. I know you're all on tenterhooks regarding his decision [:D] - he finished up buying from Walmart.
