Virgin Mobile US has just launched a mobile hotspot, take a look HERE the pricing and the freedom of the plan makes this a really good deal. No more hotel internet.

Wonder if you have to have a US-based credit card to buy it? I had to jump through several hoops to buy a US Virgin mobile some years ago, only to have even more problems trying to top it up.

But for $40 a month for unlimited 3G internet, it is a bloody good deal.

My guess would be yes - I bought a PAYG Virgin Mobile phone last year when I was in New York and they only accept US-registered cards for online and over the phone top-up. They do offer an option of topping up via PayPal, but again your account needs to be registered in the US.
