easiest way to set up a blog

For those tech savvy people out there....

Looking into getting a blog set up for mini NH, so her school/ friends etc can keep up to date with her adventures when we leave the UK: Not done one myself so a bit in the dark.

Likes of Facebook not ideal, given young age.

Mac friendly - simple formatting (I'm likely to have to set up... ): )
simplest/ cheapest way for hosting?
security? Is it possible to lock it down and agree who can access it?

Any pointers welcome ?|

NH

I like the format of Tumblr which is super easy to use.

This is the front page

https://www.tumblr.com/

And you can make blogs look like anything you want, really.

You can make it private so only 'followers' can see it.

Prefer googles blogger myself.

Blogger.com - or linked off google. Public only I think. But good, and used by many big blogs. And so simple my Dad can use it.

Alright NH..

Not sure on how old mini NH is, but if past the 18 mark go for the wordpress free blog format and don't worry too much about controlling who can access and who can't, when something is on the internet there is nearly no way to hide it from those that really want to know. A shame, but the world in which we live.

If pre the 18 mark... tumbler is an option. Another thing to consider is to either set up a secured domain for their friends to log in to or to simply email exploits on a weekly basis..
