Has anyone encountered this error when trying to post a TR?

Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x98\x8A b...' for column 'post_text' at row 1 [1366]

and if yes, is there a workaround?

Is that not the error you get when you use smilies from an Apple product (or your tablet / phone keyboard) rather than smilies from the right hand side of the screen ?

Thanks for the tip. There are some such emoticons. I'll try again in the morning.

Hope you were adding smiles (rather than sad or grumpy faces) because you had a great trip across the pond ... look forward to the TR!

Two Microsoft Word smileys were the culprits and have been terminated with extreme prejudice....
