LHR Routing

Had a great view of London this morning aboard VS12. The most amazing site was flying at 7,500ft, perpendicular to Heathrow over the 27s approach. I've never been on such a routing but the sight was superb y) Did I have anything within arms reach to take a photo? Did I heck...

Is this a popular routing? I thought they'd normally keep the north and south holds separate.

http://casperflights.com/egkk/ If you replay from 8:30am, you'll see VIR12E above Newbury and then you can follow the route.

Interesting. No idea why you took this route but there was a Speedbird not far behind you that followed the same route as you. Heavy traffic at LHR maybe?

If you were taken north of Heathrow I suspect the hold at Ockham would have been full and therefore you would have been routed to hold at Bovingdon.
