VS Amex Credit card E>PE Upgrade without using miles

Hi,

Having just spent all my miles on an UC upgrade in the Tokyo sale (thank you Virgin) I would now dearly love to use my economy to PE upgrade which I have in my Flying Club account to upgrade my next flight to Hong Kong. Has anyone got any ideas/tricks/begging routes to acomplish this?? Tried calling and was not encouraged by the response.

The AMEX PE upgrade voucher must be redeemed in conjunction with an Econcony reward flight. You spend the miles on economy and it upgrades you to PE.

There is no other way of using this voucher.

I tried as well....no chance. The only way to use theAMEX upgrade award is in conjunction with a miles only reward flight, no revenue flights are eligible.

Oh well, thanks for your help, best get the CC out and add some more miles to the bank I guess. Thanks anyway.

Just in case you weren't aware, these upgrade vouchers expire after one year.
