Hi everyone, new poster here.

I'm flying on VS003 on Thursday to JFK. The plane is apparently an A340-300. I'm trying to find out whether the entertainment system is on demand or if it is on a loop. I'm confused because I thought all the heathrow planes were the more modern ones with on demand. It is also confusing in that every day V-RAY seems to be the plane on this route and that's an A330-300 which I guess would have the latest system on it. Always previously I've found myself on A340-600's when flying from Heathrow.

I'm just hoping there will be an on demand system on board though.

I hope someone might be able to advise. Thanks.

Hi,

The VS 3 is operated by the 333 6 days a week. Friday's are normally by 346. On Thursday it will be operated by 343 due to G-VRAY the 333 operating the inaugural Vancouver flight.

Entertainment wise you'll have two possible outcomes, if you fly on G-VSUN you'll have VPORT on demand system or more likely Odyssey entertainment which is played on a loop type system.

Have a good flight!

Thanks for your reply, looks like I just got unlucky on the flight I chose. At least VS010 on the way home will be a 340-600 so i will get v-port.

Lol thanks for the welcome. I'm surprised there is still a loop system at all. Until recently I jumped between Continental, British Airways and Virgin but I'm earning too many miles with Virgin to switch airline now. Are the seats the nice leather ones that a 340-600 would have on the 340-300? I'm in premium economy.

Identical seats, but the -300 won't have a dedicated PE toilet, they're shared with economy on that type.
