I have flown on all the Virgin types except the new A330, much prefer the A340-600 over the other types. Suprised to see they are retiring these before the A340-300 series. Do you have a favourite type?

747 Suites are wider and longer than the A346. And the upstairs suites are another 2" longer still.

That wins for me. The new A330s have narrow suites still than even the A346. :0 v(

747s for me every time.

I hate the UC section of the 346. It's too long and looks like a dormitory. I actually prefer the 343 over the 346

I try only to fly 747 routes and I agree with Honey Lamb about the 600. Despite the current stte of the aircraft I love the exclusivity of the LGW 747 fleet. It feels more like first class than the mass market business class of the 600.

I prefer the a340-600 to the 747, because I prefer the feeling of the (slightly) larger lavs; which have a better automatic tap. I hate the 747 push down tap!!! The smaller more intimate bar. I prefer the new airbus style interior to the Boeing interior I.e. the overhead lockers, seatbelt design, and the air vents. Even though I prefer sitting in the nose of a 744 I prefer the look of the a340 600 cabin. I also think the a340 600 is one of the best looking aircraft out there. I love that fact that 8A has a wardrobe right infront of it, so it has easy access to it.

the best I have flown on is the A380 but as VS don't have any of those I would have to say the A340-600 as It is a lot quieter than the 747 and I prefer the Airbus fleet to the Boeing.

I have flown first with Emirstes in the suites (didn't like as I felt as if I was in a coffin) and first with Thai 744 . The beauty of the nose is that you really feel at the front of the aircraft where as with with the others you could place Frst or Upper anywhere in the tube. Can't comment about the A380 as I haven't tried this yet

The A zone on a 744 is one of lifes pleasures when traveling UC. The feeling of space and privacy far far FAR outweighs the fact that it's a bit noisier than an airbus...

That said, I did enjoy J on the upper deck of a 380 with SQ... If VS ever bought any, it could be interesting. Provided of course that the new 'dream suite' had gone the way of 'new Coke' by that point...

Depends on the cabin for PE has to be the A330 but think it has to be 747 UC like to get 2 right at the nose so you can chat as a couple without moving :) :)

The A346 wins for me in all cabins -- much quieter and more pleasant than the 747.

In economy the seating configuration is more to my taste, so that you can travel as a couple in the window pairs. In PE the cabin is intimate, has its own loos, and no horrid blocks of 4 in the middle.

In UC the 346's advantage is less marked if you can get a seat in the nose of the 747, but remember that most people don't.

Anyone who thinks the 346 is like a dormitory in UC must have a really hard time if they get stuck in the B zone on the 747s!
