I did too... it's posted into the ShopsAway history, but has yet to hit my FC account.

I have no idea why it has been awarded either.

I've been credited it too in my Shops Away history :-D Lets just hope they don't get reversed out!

I can't think of a reason but wonder if there was a promotion in the run up to Christmas? I can't remember one although there was the usual double miles on certain retailers.

Click into Shops Away and then use the tab at the top - My Shopping - Transaction History.

Ah, thanks, not noticed it before and have avoided using Shops away because I didn't think there was any way to track purchases!

I used it a fair bit last year also, so i dunno why. I was thinking perhaps it was because I downloaded the Virgin Red app?

Points were credited to FC yesterday.

My bonus posted yesterday - it, along with a nice Tesco amount helps to bring my miles balance back to something respectable ;-)

also got 1250 miles a 20% with clubcard promotion

Looks like they ran a targeted email promotion in November offering a 1000 mile bonus for first time Shops Away transactions in the run-up to Christmas: http://www.headforpoints.com/2015/11/25 ... on-travel/

But from the comments it sounds like they gave the bonus to anyone, whether they were emailed about it or not.

There was also a 1000 mile bonus around the same time for setting your Tesco Clubcard account to autoconvert.

Nowt for me, but I only use ShopsAway for Zooplus as they are not available via Gate 365.

I received an email from Virgin promoting this offer, and also saw the Head For Points article at the time. So I made my first purchase with them. I even called the Virgin contact centre to check what constituted an eligible purchase.

When the miles didn't appear I contacted their customer service repeatedly and got no reply until today. This was the reply:

"Having had your query looked into further it has shown that you made the purchase on the 25th of November 2015 but did not register for the the offer until the 27th of November 2015. This spend is now unfortunately not valid for the bonus miles as no shops away purchase was made within the bonus time frame once registered (Friday 20th November to Sunday 20th December 2015) I'm afraid."

There was no mention of registering for the offer in the email, nor was it mentioned when I spoke to the contact centre, nor did I 'register for the offer' on 27th November as they stated.

I googled to see if there was any other discussion of this offer and came across this thread (which is why I have joined today). Curious that so many of you received the miles when you weren't even aware of the promotion, when the above text says customers had to 'register'. I'm making my views known to Virgin Customer Service...

Anyway, this looks like a good resource for Virgin Flying Club members so I will check it out :)

Now I'm worried with the history of Shops Away posting miles and then reversing them!
