Looking into a quick spring hop over the pond. A quick check finds BA and VS coming in at the same price [y]
After reading the IAD-LHR TR posted where to conversation turned to the crumbs that VS now offers it's PE pax for breakfast I thought of checking NZ.
Surprise surprise they were cheaper [:0] same base price BUTtaxes, fees and surcharges

now let me think for a second here...both BA and VS are bigger airlines than NZ..they are flying the same route as NZ, being charged the same fee's by the governments and airports...and there is a $339 difference in the fee's....what am I missing here guys...surely VS and BA can not be tacking on $339 in fuel surcharges (he says tongue firmly planted in cheek).
