2) Nova will be replaced, either when the aircraft is sold/retired or if the aircraft is upgraded to the new UC Suite.

3) As far as I am aware there is no date yet in the public domain for the replacement of the 747-200's

The 742s are actually Air Atlanta's, which VS wet-lease from them (although they originally owned them).

The LGW 744s currently have the Recaro seating in Upper, but will eventually get Suites once the Heathrow fleet has been fitted.

Hi, I was just wondering...

...1) What are the PTVs like on Virgin's 742s from MAN-MCO - what system? - how many channels does it have?, games? and a removable remote control?

...2) Is the NOVA system due to be replaced?

...3) Is Virgin going to replace its 742s at MAN?

ok...now you've got me worried

I've just booked ma,pa,sister and her kids MAN MCO in Club Orlando - I wanted it to be really special for them but judging by the comments on the planes I might as well have booked a charter flight!

The 747-200 operating the MAN-MCO has that same IFE that can be found on G-VTOP and G-VXLG at LHR.

Oydessy entertainment on the Manchester flights is very good in fact recently a new procedure has been put in place where the virgin fine the company for every inop tv screen so now the maintenance contractors are getting there act together.

Your family will have a great flight in Club Orlando and the 747-200 will be at Manchester for another year at least!!!!

LGW aircraft are only 3 years old so will not be sold they will eventually get upper class suite and V-port probably by end of the year or early 2005!

Some of them have Oydessy and some have Gallery!

I cant remeber what the real real old one is called which could be found on G-VIRG and G-VGIN.

G-VJFK and G-VLAX also had a very old system with tiny tiny screens.

Gallery enertainment system is the same that Cathay Pacific uses on its aircraft. CAT and RUM were both once owned by CX and the interiors were CX ones.

The y even had a rice cooker in the upper class galley!!!
