Was just thinking, if the third runway happens in the next 10 years, which seems likely, what will happen to the slots. Two runways at present seem to handle around 600+ slot pairs a day. If we assume a third runway will generate capacity for 250 more, but not all will be used for schedule, say an extra 150 per day. Who gets them?

Assume they can be bid for, and paid for, Will BA take the lions share, will they be able to source extra 15-25 aircraft, or e able to afford to or want to??

How many pairs would VS get/want? Where would they go, assuming the Delta tie in is still in place? what aircraft would they want, assuming nothing not already known about is available when the runway is.. A350? more 789's???

Just a thought....
