Miles Booster/Buy Miles exchange rate
Posted: 24 Apr 2016, 17:29With the 30% promotion on at the moment, I imagine a lot of people are interested either in buying miles or using Miles Booster. As someone who lives in both the USA and UK, I just wanted to flag up something in the T&C:
4. Miles purchased via Miles Booster (or Buy Miles) will be priced as follows:
a. British Pound Sterling: £0.010 per mile
b. U.S. Dollars: $0.016 per mile
That's a pretty nasty USD exchange rate (it's currently 1.44 USD to 1 GBP). In other words, buying £500 worth of miles will cost you $800 using the VS exchange rate, instead of $720 market rate.
So for anyone else with the option, remember to book these via GBP, not USD. You actually have to set your Flying Club address to a UK address for the Buy Miles transaction to process in GBP.
