If the config does change it usually happens 3 days before departure.

Another refitted A333 should be in service by then but your changes of getting one are automatically reduced because you are flying from MAN and not LHR or LGW >-(

Surprisingly it was my Heathrow to JFK leg in December that went from a 1-2-1 to the new 1-1-1.
Luckily it kept me and the new wife in the original seat selection.

The return flight from Antigua to Gatwick has always been 1-1-1

G-VRAY is back this morning too and with refit complete according to vssource.
Sept 8th - Sept 29th, isn't that the quickest turn around yet by some distance?

Not surprised but my IAD-LHR flight on 6 Oct just changed to the old 1-2-1 configuration. At least I kept the same seats.

And back to the 1-1-1! Hooray!

VS127 Friday 20th - plane/seat layout changed from 1-1-1 to 1-2-1. What was odd was seat selection was "locked" for the last week.

Here's hoping we change back to original 1-1-1 config - and the original 4A, 5A, 6A seat allocation.

G-VRAY has been back for a while now, it's currently G-VNYC that's still in China, though she's not back yet.

Yeah I know it's been back a while. I'm just wondering because it was only in Xiamen for 3 weeks and reconfig is uncomfirmed according to vs source. Seems to me it probably didn't get reconfig'd like G-VKSS didn't because all the others that have had the reconfig confirmed done were in Xiamen for 5/6 weeks or more.

If my powers of deduction are correct then VRAY is serving the VS128 JFK-MAN tonight (she is currently on approach on today's VS45), and is currently showing a 1-1-1 layout in UC so if I am correct then the refit went ahead as planned.

VRAY went back to LHR as VS4 on the 24th. It was VLUV that went to MAN which we already know has been reconfig'd.

However VRAY is currently in ATL, with only VS104 operating from there to LHR today and the seatmap for that showing 1-1-1 I think we can say it was reconfig'd.

It's interesting VRAY was done so quick (3 weeks) compared to the others.

They're halfway there!

These seem to be going well.

With 4 to go and one of those there now, by the time I fly in early December there will probably only be two left.

Both legs currently showing 1-1-1.

I'm taking my first pleasure flight with Virgin Atlantic on 15th nov (all others have been work related)

Ever since we booked onto VS9 a few month ago its shown as a A330-300, Were booked in PE seats 25A and 25C. I assume this is a refitted plane as per thread title.

Looking at the "what plane will my flight be" tool, flight radar and future bookings i can see that the first VS9 A330-300 is on monday 13th Nov.

What will happen if they dont have the A330-300 ready in time for the 15th? i note that old planes have more seat in upper but less in Economy. If this happens (is it likely?), as a gold (until 30th nov anyway) is there chance we will get upgraded to upper?

Sorry for so many stupid questions

Hi Porridge,

The refit only affects the upper class cabin (it loses 2 seats from 33 to 31) there is no change to the seating in Premium or Economy the only change to Premium economy is the introduction of a ‘wander wall’ adjacent to seats 18AC which an area to help yourself to soft drinks and snacks inflight.

So your seats won’t change whether it’s a refit or none refit.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

What i kind of meant was what if there is no A330-300 on the day we fly and they are still using the A340 as they are currently.

GBR is on her way home now but with the recent incident at JFK putting a 330 out of action may be a little while before another heads out to be refitted

Looks like KSS is on her way to XMN now. She’s already been once this year let’s hope she comes back refitted this time...

Our LHR-DXB leg on Saturday has switched to 1-2-1. Not really an issue as we are in PE. Little sad no wonder wall but it's hardly a dealbreaker. I'm hoping our UC return the following weekend remains 1-1-1, as it still is.
Can only assume this was down to VRAY's little accident in JFK...
