Thats great, hopefully remain the same rotation for next Sunday when I go - I did notice that G-VSXY has fallen back into line again.

Flew VKSS back from IAD overnight and can confirm it doesn't have the new Upper Class cabin. Would appear it's gone off to maintenance again though, as we parked remotely at LHR, saw it being towed off the remote stand an hour or so later and it's not gone anywhere else today.

Here's some pictures from VSXY, let's see if this works.

Cabin from 1A

4682

Bar - separated from main cabin (and seemed to be used as an extension of the galley rather than actually a bar)

4683

There was a moveable bar above 1A with poppers on it which I guess is for crew rest seats.

Certainly more roomy than the 1-2-1 A330 I had on the outbound, especially in seat width.

Note that at least on my flight, service typically started down the "2 seat" side of the cabin then came up the 1-seat side. So while 1A should theoretically be the "best" seat you're the last to get served. Didn't affect menu choices etc on my flight but I was about one course behind the guy in 1K for dinner.

Let me know if any other questions. These were my first VS flights for quite a while (normally go BA these days) and have been reminded that Club World really does suck in comparison. Disappointing that VS don't fly to more destinations.

Thanks for the pics- looks good
I guess 'poppers' has more than one meaning otherwise the crew might not be getting too much rest

Checking our seats daily I saw last night we had been moved and when I checked the seat map that has changed from 1-2-1 to 1-1-1, this is for VS021 on Friday 12th. I will keep checking though in case it changes back and we don't get similar seats and I need to move us.

I think all the A330's do have a full set of windows in Upper Class don't they? It's just the B789's that have a missing window in row 7 from memory.

Just back from my trip to St Lucia. Had V-SXY both ways so new Upper Class.

We had 2G and 1K on the way out, those work well for across the aisle conversation. 6A and 7A on the return. The A seats will be popular as, of course, you are not overlooked from across the aisle.

On the way out half the cabin seemed to be at or heading to the rather nice bar so several "return to your seats as turbulence is expected" messages were broadcast.

I like the new arrangement (new fittings are always nice and the automatic bed worked well) but I was a tad surprised that onboard wifi was either not fitted or not operational, I am not sure which.

The wifi is fitted on most of the 744s 346s and 333s but won't be activated until all aircraft have had it fitted and it's approved by the CAA. Most of them have it fitted now so hopefully won't be long until it's activated fleet wide. The 787s have a different wifi system and wifi is available on that fleet only at the moment.

vic110 wrote:Well we have returned now and unfortunately it was not on a re-fitted plane either way. The seat plan for both only changed a day or so before the date, so if you are going soon keep checking the seatplan as our seats were changed at the last minute.
I will try and do a trip report soon.

Better keep checking our MAN-SFO flights, still showing 1-1-1 at the moment for our flights in September but loosing confidence now. ;-(

We were on the 83 on Tuesday operated by VSXY Beauty Queen.

The new layout is excellent.

From the crew we spoke with they like it too, especially the bar positioning.
