Both our flights for Sept 10th and return 24th MAN>SFO still showing 1-1-1 config. but strangely checking it just now a message pops up and says 'please note flight schedule change, if your ok with this do nothing' etc. but try as I might I cannot for the life of me see ANY change whatsoever !

For my flight on VS126 on September 1st, the arrival time has been changed. It was 12:05 PM: it is now 11:55 AM.

VS125 on 9/10 remains unchanged.

Seat maps are 1:1:1, but I expect that will change a couple of days before departure. A friend flew SFO-MAN-SFO earlier this month, and the seat map changed a few days before the flight. His original seat requests were thrown out with the change in seat map.

I think you'll find the man-sfo will be on a 33J config as the crew have to have breaks in 1 to 5 A which has stud points for curtains to be put up to screen the seats off from the cabin. I'm pretty sure the aircraft that have been refitted don't have the curtain stud points fitted so can't be used in that route (or MAN-LAS)

I'll keep checking in case they move our seats.

Re-Fitted 1-1-1 J cabin config
Beauty Queen G-VSXY
Champagne Belle G-VINE
Diamond Girl G-VGEM
Lady Love G-VLUV

Old 1-2-1 J cabin config
Mademoiselle Rouge G-VKSS
Miss Sunshine G-VRAY
Uptown Girl G-VNYC
Golden Girl G-VGBR
Miss England G-VWAG
Lady Stardust G-VUFO

If you are flying from MAN though, forget about a new config A333, as MAN doesn’t seem to be on the list for them yet as so far this year 1 single refitted A333 has flown into and out of MAN >-(

Thank you!

Going a little slow aren't they.

Do you know the deadline to have the remaining ones done?

I'm flying Heathrow to New York JFK then back from Antigua to Gatwick.

First leg is showing old 1-2-1 and second leg is showing 1-1-1.

Given that the brand new 789s are due to be taken out of service in the autumn for engine repairs/modifications, to be replaced by wet-leased Delta 767s, I'd be surprised if VS can afford to let any more 333s go at the moment.

I flew on G-VSXY (Beauty Queen) on both my flights to and from Antigua back in May.

I recall reading here that some of the Caribbean routes would be the first to be refitted with the new config, which in my case was correct.

Fingers crossed this is the same for you on the VS34 ANU>LGW

Each conversion takes 3-4 weeks - done at the same time as regular 'heavy' checks that all planes have to have on a regular basis. These checks can't be speeded up.

VS said it would be one a month. Yes they could have done 2 a month but then they would have had to cancel flights. Plus the company doing it only has a certain capacity to do the work.

As there are 6 planes to finsh it will be 6 months until the whole fleet is converted. Obviously the more that are converted the higher the chance people will get to fly on one.

G-VKSS should have been re-fitted but got missed because parts didn't arrive in time so VS should have had 5 refitted A333's by now so they are already 1 behind.

It was also mentioned that the refitting would take a break over the summer months, but I'm not sure when it's due to resume?

Both my MAN>ATL and JFK>MAN flights for mid-September are showing the 1-1-1 config seat map, but safe to say that probably 'aint going to happen as it's unlikely that any more refitted A333's will be in service by then.

Good (for me) to hear that the new config seems to be allocated to the Caribbean routes. Fingers crossed for a 1-1-1 config for my VS33 : LGW-ANU on 31st. August. :-)

Both out and return (7th. Sept) are showing new config...and only me with a seat reservation in U.C so far. :-O

Looking at the seats that have been requested by other pax, the rest of plane is less than 1/4 full . Hope it's not a reason to cancel it. I know that seat requests in EC aren't always made as they are chargeable so, my reasoning of the load might be misguided.

Here's hoping...only 23 days, 3 hours and 19 minutes to go. :-D

Seriously? Is there a thread on this? We're supposed to be on a 789 to MIA in November. Really hope it doesn't change to a Delta 767 :-O

I'm flying out from MAN to JFK on VS127 on August 31st which currently shows a 1-2-1 UC config.

The return, VS128 on Sept 5th which is showing a 1-1-1.

Am I therefore to think that this flight has been refitted?

Until you board the A/C on the day of travel there will be no guarantees, but unfortunately the stats so far for MAN point to you more likely not getting a refitted A333.

103 is living proof today!
-6hrs it was showing A330 1-2-1
-5hrs it was A330 1-1-1
-4hrs and boarding on a A340

A rollercoaster of seat selection.

I see MAN is getting it's second re-fitted A333 visit today! G-VGEM arrived this morning as the VS128 from JFK and is flying back to JFK as the VS127 this afternoon.

My flight back to EWR this Thursday had been a 121 until today when it switched to a 111.

Fingers crossed it won’t switch back.
