upgrading at ATL

Hi, I'm returning from Turks & Caicos tomorrow via Atlanta. Delta to Atlanta and then PE on VS home. My PE ticket should be upgradeable and there appears to be seats in upper. My question is, where do I go at the airport to try to upgrade with miles? Can I do it airside either at the gate or the Delta lounge? Or would I have to clear security and go landslide for to the ticketing counter at check-in? Thanks!

When we were in ATL on layover on our way back to MAN last year we were on cheap Y tickets and wanted to upgrade to PE. There's a Virgin desk in the terminal right by the departure gates, we went there and got very reasonable paid upgrades to PE :) We did not need to go landside. I didn't think to ask in the DL lounge.

Thank you! Upgrades secured airside. For anyone searching in the future the Virgin helpdesk is next to gate F6.
