Wish to change my New York reward flight to Miami.
Told I have to pay taxes/fees for new reward flight now and then wait a couple of weeks for old flight taxes/fees - £30 to be refunded?
Is this right- in past I have just paid a change fee?

I think that is correct as what you are looking at doing is a route change and not just a date change.

I've changed the date of a reward flight before but kept the same route, also for just £30 and the e-ticket reissued instantly.
