Does status have to be earned on VS operated flights only ?

On the 'old' system there used to be a record of TP you earned on VS flights and then on partner flights.
Only TP earned on VS flights counted towards some of the status levels but now I do not see any distinction when I log in.
Therefore, do all TP earned count equally ?

Silver & Gold status could and still can be earned with TPs from any source.

Lifetime Gold, though, could only be achieved with TPs earned on VS metal.

I assume that's still the case although who knows what'll happen in the future, once the tie-up with KL & AF takes effect.
