Hi,

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please? I have looked several times on different sites for Ex EU VS UC flights to the US, however all come back with no results found. I have tried different EU airports, again no such luck. Am I doing something wrong or has this booking process passed in some way?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

I don't know what sites you are checking but I have just tried a dummy booking via expedia from Amsterdam to New York next Feb and it offers loads of options.
First one is BA to Heathrow then VA to New York at £2095
Booking direct from London, lowest price on VA site....£2096
so options are there but doesn't seen to be any point.

The ITA matrix is the best way I find for searching these ex-eu flights.

I've just done the same search via ITA as I did the other day on Expedia and it shows the same flights but the cost is 3537 euros. or £3110 at 0.88 exchange?
Oddly Virgin is showing no seats available in Upper on the outbound date I chose.

I've been looking for a few days for our summer trip to Florida and found the following,

AMS - MCO on Delta
MCO - MAN on VS
MAN - AMS on KLM - total, 1422 each

I'm happy with that as most were coming in at over £2000 direct with VS. I hadn't thought about direct to MCO from anywhere outside of the UK but it's no problem. We'll fly into AMS the night before and stay in an airport hotel.

The ITA Matrix times out a search of over a minute, so if you don't give it something specific, you'll not find a lot of cheap fares.

If doing vs, you need to specify that, as well as ba for the incoming flights. You do this with advance routing codes, and entering:

BA LON VS
VS LON BA

For outwards and back. These codes book into Heathrow or London City (no BA Flights fly to gatwick), and back. But since you might want an airport change to drop the last leg, then it might suit you.
