In today's budget, it was announced that is it proposed to raise Air Passenger Duty for Private Jet and Business Class travellers
Here is the City AM Report
The GOV.UKannouncemtn says it will be introduced from 1 April 2019

So a lot can happen between now and then ;-)

I’d seen the summary but not the proposed date so was expecting a price hike imminently along with a hike in the other surcharges many carriers impose!

Yes from 1st April 2019 - the increase is for all cabins other than Economy (which will be £78) so for VS that means PE and UC (and WT+/CW and F on BA) the rate from 1st April 2019 will be £172 per person up from the £150 rate this year and the previously announced £156 from 1st April 2018.

The short haul the rates remains unchanged(but that hasn't changed from £13/£26 for some years.

I'm planning a lot more ex Invernessess, Dublins and Amsterdams
