Probably not related to the JFK incident as RAY is already back in service.

This is just a guess, but more likely down to the lack of A/C at VS.

VS are at least 4 A/C down at the minute (1 x A333 in XMN getting the new Upper class cabin, 1 x B744 also in XMN having heavy checks and at least 2 x B789’s currently out of service).

New York is probably the easiest route to chop down and merge flights as combined with DL, there are 9 flights a day now to New York.
