Hello,

This time a question from me. :)

For my birthday ( 30th April) I'm planning a flight to MCO for 8 days.( returning on the 8th)

The expedia seat map for flights 27/28 show the usual rows 7-9 in the nose ( 6 being bulkhead and not pre reservable) as normal but shows rows 12-14-15 in the Zone B .( Row 11 being the bulkhead) .ALso the rows 14-15 do not have the middle seats ( indicating the bar area on the LHR 747-400?)

The other flights only have rows 7-9 ( with row 11-12 not shown- used for the PE service but Upper seats?) which are the normal LGW configuration.

Now I was thinking( wishful, perhaps?;) that this may suggest that there is an aircrat swap for an LHR 747-400 ( non suite) but Rows 2-3-4 on the upper deck are not shown .

Confused? I certainly am :D is there a rational explanation or is there yet another LGW configuration?

TBS,

Tried to have a look at this one on Expedia but couldn't bring up the seat map, just got "We're sorry, but we are currently unable to retrieve the seat map for your trip. You can still select a seating preference from the choices below."

It is a pain in the butt that you have to go almost to the point of confirming the booking before Expedia offers the seat map option, even more so when it doesn't work!

Seat planner now working on expedia, certanly not the LGW seat set up unless its changed - maybe you will get a LHR set up.

Just checked my LGW - ANU route in June and no such luck its showing the layout of the normal LGW set up.

Hi TBS

Have flown this route umpteen times now and can confirm that since the Ex Alitalia planes came on board, there is only one LGW configuration.

We've been upgraded to row 11 a few times now, always on the way back, and it is the first row after the bulkhead in zone B, so it looks like you might have an LHR plane.

ps. When are we going to start lobbying for some Scottish departures to save trailing down to London. - even a summer departure would be better than nothing ;)

While the LGW 400 go in for maintenance a LHR 747-400 will be opearting an Orlando flight until early april.

Not sure how VS wil operate the classes. Not sure if J class seats will be used as PE. If they are then you have a fanatsic deal.

Do we know if the LHR is only being used for the MCO route or is it being shared between the LGW routes ??

Also do we know what maintenance is being done.

The aircraft wil be be 3 years old this year so probably there C or D check not sure which one.

The LHR 400 will only operate flights from LGW to MCO

Hi declansmith,

Thanks for that information.

It is showing for the outbound flight on 30th April and returning on 8th May.

I was planning on returning on th 825pm flight but if the earlier flight (525pm VS 28) is the J2000 as appears to be the case then it might be tempting to book the earlier flight.

Will be interesting to see if they use the J seats as Upper class or as PE.

If they only use A zone as upper class and say B zone as PE who will get to use the bar??

I know reservations system has been changed so the aircraft can only be booed to a LHR config and not a LGW config!

From the seat map it looks like upstairs is PE, Zone A/B downstairs is UC.

A LHR 747-400 will operate the VS27/28 from 25th April until 15th May 2004
