Been getting together samples of Virgin aircraft models, and when the A321 Virgin Sun arrived this morning, I was quite shocked at the relative size of the A380. Both these models are at the same scale (1:200)

The entire wingspan of the A321 isn't as wide as just one of the A380 wings!

WOW - that's some difference alright! When I was at Eindhoven this weekend, it was funny to see the difference between a RyanAir 737 and the ATR72s lining up. Mind, it was funnier to see all the Dutch people in the airport running up to the side of the viewing area to get a glimpse of a "big jet" :D

Crikey! It's good to see a direct comparison of the size difference :)

I see you have the same A380 model that I have :) It's so cool. I have it as a kind of centre piece on one of my cabinets in my room (eek, sounding anorak-ish!).

I've found a supplier, and will be adding the A380, 747-400, A340-600 & (Virgin Sun) A321 to the new online store once the luggage tag issue is resolved.

There are some interesting facts emerging about the A380. Apparently advanced materials and design innovation make this some 15 tonnes less than it would have been if conventionally designed. Not much perhaps on a 500 tonne aircraft but at 100kg per pax this equates to 150 pax.
