Welcome to the forum Highbeacon

Not only do you get the reward benefits from being a member you'll find the flying club very helpful in allocating seats no matter who you purchased them from. With the correct booking ref you can even fo it online

Well, I'm now a flying club member but it hasn't made any difference [:(!]

I am told by VS that 40% of the seats are allocated for MAN, I have to sit where they tell me as there is no alternative for our group of 8 and finally they tell me the flight is only half full [xx(]

Not sure where I am now but time will tell..I suppose. Can't be worse than BA...

Part of the reason they only allow 40% of the seats to be pre-booked (it's not only MAN, it's the entire fleet), is so larger groups and families do not get split up when checking in.

Obviously you'll still need to get to check in reasonably early if there are 8 of you, even if the flight is half full.

Thanks Pix! VS did happen to mention that check in will be open 4 hours before, that's 6.30am, can't wait to rush out of bed !!
