I was in Cork city yesterday afternoon and returned home past the airport as I usually do rather than taking the main road down to West Cork. I knew that something big was happening because of the emergency vehicles heading there but I didn't wait to see what. After all there is a huge Business park as well as two hotels in the airport complex and it could have been anything unrelated to the airport itself.

The first reports were that a passenger had died which made me wonder why the flight had not continued on for the next 20-30 minutes or so to Dublin. Then the rest of the story came out. I gather from the news reports on RTE, it was rather distressing for the other passengers on board before he died.
