Flew Hannover - Manchester last night. Picture the scene - There are 3 lines for immigration , one for UK/EU, one for families/wheelchairs/reduced mobility and one for non EU passengers, with UK Border officials sat at each. No-one in either of the latter two lines, but staff still insisting that everyone else use the infernal automated passport readers, which aren't an improvement, just a cost-saver. So when the machines reject your passport, you then join the queue to present your passport the old-fashioned way. Has common-sense officially left the building (or at least T3)?
