KLM / Air France miles collecting...

Anyone know any good ways to collect miles?
I know with Luthansa for example I could apply for a Miles & More card.

Anything I can get in the UK to collect - I guess maybe general AMEX points & convert?

Maybe one day Virgin will be join...

Just much easier & quicker for me to get to Schipol than London!

AMEX with Mileage Rewards that you can dump into flying blue is probably your best bet.

Whilst not impossible I think it will be a long time before VS joins Sky Team.

And whilst not quite connected Willie Walsh said recently he could see a time in the not too distant future when alliances like ST, OW and *A would start to become less and less important. Just look at the changes to baggage interlining on separate tickets that have started to be implemented.
