Hi all,

Flying VS127 MAN-JFK later this month, we are staying at a hotel on site the night before (the thought of driving up the M6 at rush hour in the morning terrifies me, there's always some trouble!)

Anyway, I am just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for places for dinner not too far from the Airport? Pubs, restaurants etc we just want somewhere where we can get a decent meal.

Depending on what time you arrive at the airport, a train to Piccadilly will give you a host of dining opportunities...

The only pub that’s ‘on-site’ and not in the terminals at MAN is The Airport Pub which has good views of the runway and has an outdoor area. It’s within walking distance from the on-site airport hotels. I’ve never been in though so cannot comment what it’s like though sorry? Some of the reviews for it are not very encouraging though.

A fifteen minute taxi will take you to mobberley where there are two excellent pubs, the bulls head (very traditional and quite rustic) and The Roe Buck (a bit more modern, recently renovated and reopened). I would happily spend a few hours in either of these. Fair better than anything onsite or in the immediate vicinity of the airport.

Don't use The Airport pub. It's a parking ground for airport cab drivers and has little in the way of ambience or food.
