Note to self--flying from America to UK on 4 July (US Independence from England Day) is most excellent idea as everyone else seems to fancy staying home.

Were a bit rushed at check in (late drop off having left car at friend's condo in Chelsea not anticipating traffic on return) but graciously given pre-assigned seats. Crab cakes at Dine Boston, a bit of browsing for books and gifts (Johnny Walker Green and Wild Turkey) then to shared lounge, drinks and a quick call to board via designated walkway. Were given letter in lounge apologizing for lack of showers at Revivals--water mains break.

Cabin staff were excellent--possibly because there were only four of us (and infant) in the main UC cabin! Chose Pouilly Fuisse as cocktail (find the VS standard fizz a bit shallow), given sleep suits immediately on arrival, cabin temp perfect, we relaxed and really enjoyed our flight. This quick jump from Boston to London always seems just right in terms of how much time is really tolerable in an aircraft--although it is of course especially tolerable with UC pampering.

Was a bit disappointed to find tv selection same as last flight (I mean how much Little Britain and Catherine Tate can one watch and still walk straight?) but enjoyed London papers, travel mags and music through dinner (soup and cheese). Could not see much difference in menu offerings with new caterers...

Enjoyed one bar drink (just because it's there) and slept until tea, fruit and yogurt on decent into Heathrow. No dithering on arrival, we landed on time, were at gate and disembarked in record fashion and fast passed through immigration with great speed. Revivals were expecting us and had remedied water situation--excellent shower, breakfast (for me always signature eggs--although prefer without soggy muffin), a few phone calls and off.

Can't say enough for cabin crew (as well as Revivals), who were in top form--just the right touch of care, fun and thoughtfulness.

Thanks roadrunner [y]. Was this on a 744?

I also noticed last weekend that the TV selection on v.port really needs updating - those Simpsons episodes are getting a little boring having watched each of them 2/3 times!

roadrunner,
Good report -- and your 100th post. Congratulations! Glad you had the opportunity to enjoy UC (though some among us would perhaps want more time to enjoy it than the relatively quick hop BOS-LHR).

July 4 is the perfect time for flying in this country; everyone who is going anywhere is already there.

Regards,
Chuck-
