We arrived at Newark four hours before departure which was just as well as check-in was a complete shambles. It was clear that the two check-in staff were new and being trained but unfortunately the trainer was not with them permanently and as a result our experience of check-in was not the standard that we normally expect from Virgin Atlantic. The problem seemed to be caused by our desire to check three cases through to Manchester whilst a further two cases were to terminate at Heathrow i.e Our Parents cases.This caused complete confusion, disorganisation and delay, clearly Virgin Atlantic will need to review their procedures at Newark . We left check-in wondering if we would ever see our cases again!

To our surprise there were 100 seats empty on this flight, we felt very disappointed for Virgin Atlantic as we feel their service deserves better , however, it made loading of the plane, which was Mustang Sally, very efficient and made for a very comfortable and relaxed flight home. The Entertainment System was V-Port and this was wonderful and together with the famous Virgin Atlantic Service by the Cabin Crew, the six and a half hour flight home passed by very quickly and smoothly.

Good to hear that you were not disappointed by the in flight service - I take it the food was more than acceptable[?]
