This made me laugh, for the Singapore entry in the IATA Visa requirements database:

"Entry may be refused to "hippy" types."

It's a good job there's plenty to do air side at changi when the thousands of "hippy type" students on gap years and aussies and new zealanders on their big "OE" are transiting there.[:o)]

I know how strange! It says the same to enter BKK! ;)

Beware the tie-dye people! [:o)]

LOL :) And as you say, with SIN being one of the huge transit points for students ....

Always remember getting onboard SQ in J to find some sandal wearing student with a backpack as big as me sitting a few seats up. Just didnt seem right, scruffy student types in J :D

Thanks,
Sarah

I will move to Singapore tomorrow. If you had to live in Seattle, with its stinky, patchouli-oil dipped, long dirty haired, Pete Seeger-listening, knee-jerk Marxists you would fall over and die.

Viva the anti-hippy movement.

I've always wanted to go to seattle since my "grunge" days...

No, but I think they would love the Houston Astros baseball shirts from the 70's

Ooh, I'm not sure about that. Maybe not soccer shirts, but Stephen Stills, writer of one of the ultimate hippie anthems "Love The One You're With" was oft attired in US football shirts (see the back cover of his first album).

My. One would think you didn't like LatteLand...

Seriously, GJ, you must be frequenting parts of Seattle I don't go into. I certainly don't see any of *that* at Uwajimaya's. Too bad we didn't get to share a brew - keep posting anyway!

Shall I offer you an amenity kit for your journey? Oh, wait, you're probably going SQ and won't need any paltry thing I could provide... [}:)]

Funny how the hippies of thirty years ago look no different than today. I remember how as a clean cut college student I became disgusted with the handsome George Harrison when he let his hair grow, lost all that weight, took on a beard and topped it all off with granny glasses and the glassy-eyed effect. Little could I know his new "look" would remain de riguer forty years later.

I think you were very well turned out at the PCP and not a hippy at all.

However - whilst wearing the "pimp robe" you were definitely 1970's porno stylee!!

There must be a pic somewhere!!!

How do you know that?[V] Anyway the pimp robe was simply the Champion's regalia - much like boxers wear when they have knocked the living daylights out of the opposition. Which is coincidently what Ben appeared to do to you during the bowling, old man[:p]
