Do hope l am posting this in the right place, apologies if not.

We are looking to enjoy a Sunday meal with family somewhere near to Manchester airport......within ten miles or so.
Not necessarily looking for a traditional lunch, just a nice place serving good food.
Would appreciate any suggestions any of you have.

Thank You.

Try this:
http://www.theairporthotel.com/

It's minutes (seconds) from MAN and will give you a great feel of the Airport before you actually get in.

I go often for a summer afternoon relax/plane/people watching drink. Get there early (ish) for lunch though as it gets a bit busy! Looks chyeap as chips but just right for a family with kids (dont know your circumstances though!)

You could also try any of the chain restaurants in the Trafford Centre Mall (about 12 minutes drive from MAN, Junction 9 and 10 off M60).It has all the usual fast food joints but also a really good Italian "tapas" style restaurant called "Pesto"

Or:
If you fancy a bit of a drive further out, my home town of Wigan has this little gem:

Enjoy

10 miles would get you into Manchester City Centre....Sam's Chop House or Southern Eleven or many others.

If assuming to the post, you are having flights/ people arriving etc. then the Trafford is an easy fix, with suitable variety of dining options, dependent on your want, you've not said at what level you are pitching at?
We did the very same on route to MCO,picked mrs NH up sans Spain, chk'd in at Bewley's then quick 10 min drive to Trafford and drinks/Noodle fest in Tampopo...and brief wander round Selfridges, the total bill for the above being similar to couple of drinks in airport hotel bar!!
Trafford is easy to find and easy to park, without creating any hassle of finding somewhere specific.

Sorry NH, wasn't very specific!
We are actually travelling over to MAN from Yorkshire, checking in at the Radisson at lunchtime.
Our daughter and her beau are coming from Chester to meet us for a meal, we have plenty of time as we don't fly to LHR until the next morning.
TC sounds fine, haven't been there in a long time.

Thanks again for all your suggestions.
