The subject speaks for itself.

So you all know what you have to do - DRINK GIN !

(not that some of us - especially a certain RoI based lady - need any excuse)

So any pointers for a newby? Best way to drink G&T for first time?

Your first ( proper) G+T won't be the last :D .
Ok what you need...
Half decent gin ): .
Decent tonic.
Decent ice ( yes really).
Decent ( ie long and clean) glasses.
Fresh lime ( lemon just doesn't cut it).

Mix the above ( or even better get someone else to undertake the task) , relax , and enjoy :)

Thanks DL that's the kind of instruction I was looking for.

Tanqueray Export will do fine - I use that in preference for ice cold martinis, but there are myriad gins and flavours so find your own to suit you.

If not a G&T then how about a Negroni:

1 part gin
1 part Campari
1 part sweet vermouth (I tend to halve this portion)

Pour into a tumbler over lots of ice, stir, decorate with a slice of orange. Drink.

Bliss. I'll be having one later.

Aldi do a nice gin for a tenner, which is decent enough.

But this is the next one I want to try:

Defo will give the g&t a try
A want to have one in the CH but drinking g&t in the morning must be a bit tricky lol

Listen, I know it's a V-Flyer tradition to have morning drinks but no one will think the less of you if you go for a coffee instead!
